Becoming a role model

Previously, if one were to tell me 'I wish I can be like you', I would certainly reply, 'Haha.. I am nothing. You should wish to be someone better.' But, now I have a different view on it. I would reply 'Thank you. I am honoured. Work a little harder, you can always do it! Let me know if you need anything, will always be here'.

What changed my perspective is about a conversation I heard on radio. He actually said, if someone is looking upon you, it certainly means that you are doing something right. So be proud of yourself and guide them through.

I used to not believe this, and being an Asian, I don't take compliments well. I usually shrugged them off with "where got?" "You also ma.." But lately, I had learnt to take compliment, to accept them. Instead of all that, I had started to say thank you. When a friend told me, I wished I can be you, I had replied her with, you can always be like me, work a little harder and know your aim and dreams. I am here because I know I want to be here. Surprising right? Even I am surprised with my answer but it feels so good after saying it. It is like I am also acknowledging my own effort.

I am great that I know what and where I wanna be in the future, and I really think it is important for everyone to do so. Ask your inner self, be truthful. Search your soul and peace, then you would know and see your dreams.
